In March of 1970, company founder John Wallace began Swim Chem to fulfill the need he saw for quality, dependable swimming pool maintenance in the Sacramento, California area. A pool and spa professional of many years, John already owned a Fresno area swimming pool plastering company that had grown to include both pool excavation and decking divisions. This made him exceptionally knowledgeable of the ins and outs of the pool industry, and able to recognize the lack of reputable, reliable service companies throughout much of northern California.

Customer response to Swim Chem’s outstanding level of service was so overwhelming that within three years John had sold his Fresno companies and moved his family to Sacramento in order to devote his energies exclusively to pool maintenance and equipment repairs. The rest, as they say, is history! Throughout the last fifty-two years, Swim Chem has remained a family-owned company with a second and now third generation of family members participating in business operations.

We continue to offer the same great regular service that John Wallace was committed to, and customers continue to respond enthusiastically, making Swim Chem one of the largest and most widely recognized service companies in our area. Our size enables us to purchase materials in bulk often at a savings not available to smaller companies. We believe in passing this savings on to our customers, keeping rates low with our basic water chemistry balancing service starting at just $80 a month plus a $25 annual conditioning fee!

All of our technicians are highly skilled and experienced. Several employees have even been with the company between fifteen and thirty three years! Unlike other companies, Swim Chem keeps our Service Division and our Repair Division separate so as not to divide the attention and efforts of their respective technicians and thus sacrifice the quality of the services they perform.
